What is micro-needling?

The concept of using needles therapeutically originated many centuries ago in China, however technologic advancements in recent years allowed for perfecting this procedure and inventing a fractional, oscillating, multiple needle device designed to create micro-channels of penetration in the skin. These minute zones of "injury" created by fine gauge needles stimulate collagen production as the skin heals. The result of this process is the production of healthy, new collagen, clinically translating to smoother, thicker, younger-looking skin!

What are the indications for micro-needling with Dermapen?

Dermapen is FDA-indicated for aging skin, fine lines and wrinkles, stretchmarks, acne scars, surgical scars and tattoo removal. Very good results can be achieved over time for the upper and lower lip lines, crepiness in the lower eyelid area, décolletage, or inner arm. For best results, a series of 4-6 treatments are ideal spaced every 4 weeks apart.
Micro-needling is associated with minimal discomfort and make-up can often be applied the following day.
